Do You Still Get PageRank From Links That Open In A New Window?

I have had a few people asking if you have a link that is target=”_blank” will it still pass pagerank?
This is a great question, I have never thought about this and it has never dome up before. I would have to say yes it will still pass pagerank.
As long as the link is a follow link you should have no problem because the Google bot can still crawl the link and therefore still able to pass the PageRank to the other page.
Fake PageRank Anyone?

Some of the big talk these days is fake pagerank. Many people just look at a website that checks pagerank and if the website tells them it is fake or forged they believe it!
I can say this is not always true. It is very important that you do the research yourself to see what is going on with the domain. You want to go to Google and type in this without the quotes “info:domainname.com” now when it returns a result it should say the name of the domain that you entered in. If it does not say the name you entered in then the pagerank is faked.
So how is pagerank faked?
You can mask a domain so that it points to another domain that has pagerank. So then the pagerank from the domain that you are pointed to looks like it is on the domain that is being masked.
Sometimes on websites it will say that the www. is forged and the non www. is not. This just simple means that the domain is setup to use the non www. format. So if you were to go to wwww.mydomain.com it would redirect you to mydomain.com without the www. This does not mean the pagerank is forged, simple that the pagerank is on the non www. url address.

Using Yahoo Answers and Blog Comments To Raise PageRank

A lot of people are wondering if placing their link on Yahoo Answers is going to raise their pagerank. After all a lot of Yahoo Answer pages have a very decent pagerank. So in theory you should be able to get some PR juice flowing back to your site!
Well that is wrong, it will not work. Why you ask? Because all of the links that are placed on Yahoo Answers are nofollow links. What this means is that Yahoo has put a script on their site that automatically makes all the links not followable so Google will not pass the PR juice back to your site.
In order to get the PR juice the links have to be dofollow links.
As a madder of fact most of you don’t even realize this but when you are posting your comments on a blog in an effort to get a back link it does not even work.
Most blogs now have installed a nofollow script stopping all back link and PR juice from leaking into your link that you left in the comments. I see so many people still wasting so much of their time thinking that they are getting all of these great back links when in fact they are getting nothing from it at all.
Now thats not to say that other readers are not going to click on your link and check it out, so you may get some traffic from it, but probably not enough traffic to even waste your time with.

I have just learned the hard way how to lose your page rank fast!
So I wanted to share with you all what not to do!

So I started searching Google on how to update the cache and I read that you can go into webmaster tools and ask that the cache be removed or update.
I went into my Google webmaster tools and submittied my domain to have ONLY the cache removed. There was an option to block the entire domain or just the cache and I selected just the cache!
Well about 48 hours later I went to check the Page Rank of my domain and BAM it was g0ne!!!
My heart sank I was F’in pissed! I went and searched Google for my domain and they had deleted my entire domain from the results.
They deleted EVERYTHING not just the cache as I had requested. God Google nice! WTF!
Now I have a heafty 13,000+ backlinks so I image as soon as they do the next Page Rank update I will get the PR back, but that could be 6 months from now. They just updated the Page Rank 5 days ago on April 3rd, 2010 so I have a long wait ahead of me.
I hope I get it back because they deleted my entire site, so is it out of their for good or did they just do that so the cache would be updated? Not sure!
